How to save captured plane features in ADAM Technology software?

The most efficient way of saving plane features in our software is by using the native polyline .pln file format with the corresponding feature definition file .fdf (which is a library catalogue containing all the features’ capture setups). After capturing features in 3D View, select from the menus: File | Features | Save and save to .pln format. From another computer you would first load the .fdf file in 3D View and then load the .pln by selecting from the menus: File | Features | Load.

The advantage of using our proprietary .pln format is you can freely use it with any of our software packages e.g. from the full package of 3DM Analyst Mine Mapping Suite to the subset of 3DM Analyst Edit Station. All the captured features are preserved using the .pln format when saving and loading.

3DM Analyst Edit Station is primarily designed for digitising/mapping functionality, but is restricted to loading our proprietary data i.e. .dtm for the 3D point surface and .pln with the .fdf for the feature capture. Captured features can be exported to 3rd party formats like .dxf and plane features only can be exported to .csv format from the menus: Feature Info | Feature Info List and then click the Save to File button.

A recent addition to the software is a function of importing plane only features saved to .csv format in 3DM Analyst Edit Station using the menus: File | Features | Import.
